The outer thigh is stubborn because almost nothing trains it directly. Pulling the leg out to the side against a band does exactly that, and the burn arrives faster than you would expect from a movement that looks this simple.
Set Up
Anchor: Door anchor at the bottom of the door.
Bands: Clip both ends of the band into one ankle strap.
Body position: Fasten the ankle strap around your working ankle. Stand three to four feet from the door with your non working leg nearest the door and a couple of inches behind the working leg. Set a chair where you can reach it for balance. Back straight, head straight, chest up, stomach tight.
Movement
Pull your working leg out to the side until it makes about a forty five degree angle with the floor.
Points To Remember
- Keep the working leg straight through the whole range.
- Think about pulling from your heel.
