The opposite number to the abduction, and just as neglected. Pulling the leg in across your body loads the Adductors through their full range, and they tend to let you know about it sooner than you expect.

Standing Leg Adduction With Bands start and finish positions

Set Up

Anchor: Door anchor at the bottom of the door.

Bands: Clip both ends of the band into one ankle strap.

Body position: Fasten the ankle strap around your working ankle. Stand three to four feet from the door with your working leg nearest the door. Set a chair where you can reach it for balance. Back straight, head straight, chest up, stomach tight. Start with your working leg out at about forty five degrees to the floor.

Movement

Pull your working leg in, away from the anchor, until that foot finishes in front of your standing foot.

Points To Remember

  1. Keep the working leg straight through the whole range.
  2. Think about pulling from your heel.
