The band pulls from behind you and hands back some of the effort on the way up, so you can keep going after your Abs have stopped being able to lift you on their own. Useful while you are still building toward a full sit-up, and useful at the end of a set when the last few reps have gone.

Assisted Sit-ups With Bands start and finish positions

Set Up

Anchor: Door anchor at knee height.

Bands: No adjustment needed.

Body position: Grip the handles, or the band itself just above the nylon at the clips, and lie on your back with your feet three to four feet from the door. Feet flat, knees up and about six inches apart. Bend your arms and hold your hands together above your hips. Start with your shoulder blades a couple of inches off the floor.

Movement

Raise your upper body until it is upright, perpendicular to the floor. Lower back down and repeat.

Points To Remember

  1. Hold your arms at the same angle the whole way through.
  2. Keep your head and back straight and your chest up.
