This is a bench press or a push up done standing. Anchoring low keeps the bands below your arms rather than rubbing across them, and it gives you something to brace against so you can press hard without being dragged backward.
Set Up
Anchor: Door anchor at knee height.
Body position: Grip a handle in each hand and stand three to four feet from the door with your back to it. Bring your arms up parallel to the floor and level with the door behind you, palms facing down. Back straight, head straight, chest up.
Movement
Press the handles forward, up and in until your hands are about six inches apart at eye level. Return under control and repeat.
Points To Remember
- Hold the handles lightly. A tight grip pulls your arms into the lift and takes work off the Chest.
- Do not let your elbows travel back past your shoulders on the return.
