Chest
Cross Body Press
Want to see how this fits into a real workout? 612 band workouts are free, no credit card, no trial clock. Join free here.
Pressing across your body instead of straight ahead lets the Chest fibers shorten further than a standard press allows. You finish each rep with the working side fully contracted, which is exactly where most pressing movements stop short.
Set Up
Anchor: Door anchor at the top of the door.
Bands: Clip both ends of the band into one handle and hold it in one hand.
Body position: Stand three to four feet from the door with your working side facing it, feet wider than shoulder width. Back straight, head straight, chest up. Start with your elbow up level with your shoulder and your forearm pointing down, hand just outside your chest.
Movement
Press the handle across your body until your hand is in front of the opposite side of your chest. Return under control and repeat.
Points To Remember
- Keep your arm tight to your body as you press across.
