Driving the leg straight back behind you is the Glutes' actual job, and this does nothing else. No Quads, no back, no balancing act beyond a hand on a chair. One movement, loaded smoothly.

Standing Hip Extension With Bands start and finish positions

Set Up

Anchor: Door anchor at the bottom of the door.

Bands: Clip both ends of the band into one ankle strap.

Body position: Fasten the ankle strap around your working ankle with the ring at the front. Stand three to four feet from the door, facing it, feet side by side. Put a chair beside you if you need it for balance. Back straight, head straight, stomach tight.

Movement

Keeping the working leg straight, push it back ten to twelve inches and squeeze your Glutes.

Points To Remember

  1. Push back from your heel.
