Kneeling drops your centre of gravity and gives you a stable base, which means you can chase high reps on lighter resistance without your body fighting to stay upright. The Triceps spend a long time under tension, and that is where the burn comes from.

Kneeling Overhead Triceps Extension start and finish positions

Set Up

Anchor: Door anchor at the top of the door.

Bands: Clip a closed ankle strap to each end of the band and grip a loop in each hand, fingers inside the loop and thumb outside.

Body position: Kneel facing away from the door with your feet touching it. Back straight, head straight, backside on your heels. Start with your palms either side of your forehead, upper arms at about forty five degrees to the floor and elbows about twelve inches apart.

Movement

Press your hands out in front of you and straighten your arms.

Points To Remember

  1. Hold your upper arms at that forty five degree angle through the whole range.
  2. Keep your elbows about twelve inches apart and do not let them bow out.
