The band version of the overhead cable extension. Leaning away from the door lets your bodyweight hold against a heavier band than you could manage standing upright, so you get more resistance without losing your position.
Set Up
Anchor: Door anchor at the top of the door.
Bands: Clip a closed ankle strap to each end of the band and grip a loop in each hand, fingers inside the loop and thumb outside.
Body position: Stand with your back to the door, step away and stagger your stance with your back foot one to two feet from the door. Chest up, back straight, head straight. Start with your hands behind your head, palms facing in, elbows about twelve inches apart.
Movement
Press your hands down and forward until they are at eye level and your arms are straight.
Points To Remember
- Keep your elbows fixed about twelve inches apart. Do not let them drift up or down.
