The band version of the cable pushdown, and it feels almost identical. Worth rotating in when your arm work has gone stale, since the angle is different enough from the overhead extensions to feel like a new exercise.
Set Up
Anchor: Door anchor at the top of the door.
Bands: Clip a closed ankle strap to each end of the band and grip a loop in each hand, fingers inside the loop and thumb outside.
Body position: Stand three to four feet from the door. Back flat, chest up, bending slightly forward at the waist. Start with your upper arms in line with your body, elbows tight to your sides, hands at chest height about eight inches apart, palms facing in.
Movement
Press your hands down until they are just below your hips and your arms are straight.
Points To Remember
- Keep your elbows still at your sides. They should not travel forward or back during the rep.
