Front and Side Delts
Standing Press
Want to see how this fits into a real workout? 612 band workouts are free, no credit card, no trial clock. Join free here.
Because bands produce no momentum, you can press fast without the load slamming through your spine and joints at the turnaround. That matters more than it sounds: fast reps recruit the fast twitch fibers, and those are the ones that grow.
Set Up
Anchor: None needed.
Bands: Clip a handle to each end of the band.
Body position: Stagger your feet with one in front and stand on the band with your front foot. Grip a handle in each hand and stand tall with the bands running in front of your arms, palms facing forward. Bring your arms into a goal post position, upper arms parallel to the floor and forearms vertical. Back straight, head straight, chest up.
Movement
Press your hands up and together overhead until your arms are almost fully straight.
Points To Remember
- Grip the handles lightly as you press.
