Most ab work trains your midsection to fold. This trains it to rotate, which is what it actually spends the day doing. If your lower back and sides feel stiff by the evening, this is usually the movement that opens them up.
Set Up
Anchor: Door anchor at chest height.
Bands: Clip both ends of the band into one handle and grip it with both hands.
Body position: Stand three to four feet from the door with your side facing it. Back straight, head straight, stomach tight. Arms in front of your body with your hands in tight to your chest.
Movement
Rotate your upper body away from the door, turning from the waist, until it naturally stops. Return under control and repeat.
Points To Remember
- Keep your lower body still. The rotation comes from the waist up.
