Rows and pulldowns bend the elbow, so the Biceps always take a share of the work. Keeping your arms straight removes them from the movement and leaves the Lats to do it alone. Worth rotating in when your back work has gone stale.

Kneeling Straight Arm Lat Extension With Bands start and finish positions

Set Up

Anchor: Door anchor at the top of the door.

Bands: Clip a handle to each end of the band.

Body position: Grip a handle in each hand and kneel three to four feet from the door, facing it. Back straight, chest up. Start with your arms straight and pointing up toward the anchor, above head height, palms down.

Movement

Press the handles down and back until your hands are level with your hips. Return under control and repeat.

Points To Remember

  1. Keep your shoulders back as you press down, as though you were squeezing a coin between your shoulder blades.
