Pull ups limit you to your own bodyweight, which for most people means too few reps to make progress on. A band lets you choose the resistance, so you can train the Lats through a full range and add load week by week.

Wide Grip Lat Pull Down With Bands start and finish positions

Set Up

Anchor: Door anchor at the top of the door.

Bands: Clip a handle to each end of the band.

Body position: Grip a handle in each hand and kneel on one knee three to four feet from the door, facing it. Back straight, head straight, shoulders down. Arms pointing at the anchor, palms facing down.

Movement

Pull the handles down and out to the sides until your hands are level with your chin. Return under control and repeat.

Points To Remember

  1. Grip the handles loosely, just tight enough not to drop them.
  2. Pull through your elbows.
